Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the rules and guidelines for using Compyle ("we", "us", "our") at compyleapp.com (the "Service"). We are committed to maintaining a safe, lawful, and respectful platform for all users. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy.
2. Prohibited Uses
You must not use the Service to:
- Illegal activity: Engage in, promote, or facilitate any activity that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
- Harassment: Harass, threaten, bully, intimidate, or cause distress or discomfort to any person
- Spam: Send unsolicited bulk messages, advertisements, or promotions, or use the Service to distribute spam or phishing content
- Impersonation: Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Fraud: Engage in deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading practices, including falsifying employment history or credentials in generated documents
- Scraping: Use automated scripts, bots, crawlers, or similar tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service without written permission
- Reverse engineering: Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or underlying structure of the Service
- Account sharing: Share your account credentials with others, or allow multiple individuals to use a single account
- Bypassing quotas: Circumvent, manipulate, or attempt to circumvent monthly application quotas, rate limits, or other usage restrictions
- Uploading malware: Upload, transmit, or distribute any viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or other malicious or harmful code
3. Content Standards
When using the Service to generate or manage job application materials, you must:
- Accurate information: Provide truthful, accurate, and current information in your professional profile. Generated documents are only as accurate as the source data you provide
- No stolen content: Ensure that all information you input into the Service is your own or that you have the right to use it. Do not upload or input content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
- No discriminatory content: Do not generate, upload, or distribute content that promotes discrimination, hatred, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic
4. AI Usage
Compyle uses AI to generate tailored career documents. You must not use AI-generated content from the Service to:
- Deception: Create documents designed to deceive employers into believing false qualifications, employment history, or skills
- Deepfakes: Generate or assist in generating synthetic media (including text-based impersonation) intended to misrepresent a person's identity, qualifications, or experience
- Misinformation: Produce content containing knowingly false claims or fabricated credentials for the purpose of misrepresentation
AI-generated content should be reviewed and personalised by you before submission to any employer.
5. Browser Extension
If you use the Compyle browser extension, you must:
- ATS security: Not use the extension to circumvent, bypass, or compromise the security measures of any Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or employer platform
- Platform compliance: Comply with the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policies of any third-party platform (LinkedIn, job boards, ATS portals) where you use the extension
- Legitimate use only: Use the extension solely for its intended purpose of streamlining your own job application process
6. Enforcement
We reserve the right to enforce this policy at our discretion. Actions we may take include:
- Warnings: A written notice for minor or first-time violations
- Suspension: Temporary suspension of your account and access to the Service pending review
- Termination: Permanent termination of your account for serious or repeated violations
- Reporting to authorities: Referral to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where we believe illegal activity has occurred or is being planned
We will attempt to notify you of any enforcement action, except where prohibited by law or where notification would compromise an investigation.
7. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it to us immediately at abuse@compyleapp.com. Include as much detail as possible, including:
- The nature of the violation
- The user or account involved (if known)
- Any supporting evidence or documentation
We will investigate all reports and take appropriate action. We do not disclose the outcome of investigations to complainants.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or prominent notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
